Monitor Your Bank AccountsNovember 2nd, 2009 @ 12:42 am
Thank goodness for online banking. I was recently checking my accounts & I’ve discovered 3 senseless & unauthorized purchases on my account. I was about to cry. I asked my mom what am I supposed to do. How can I get my money back. I contacted the people who charged my card without my knowledge, then I alerted my bank ASAP. At first I got the call center was closed message, then I just contacted the group that handles lost or stolen card & she pulled up what I was seeing & closed out that account. She told me to call back tomorrow & they’d write a claim to get my money back & closed out my account so I won’t be charged with more charges. They took over $100 dollars & I was like oh no, I know I didnt spend that much & this balance isn’t right. Ive been giving myself a $300 spending limit every 2 weeks & $600/month & I knew I had $100 left which I basically wasnt going to really touch because Id just opened a Chase account as well and I had the money I transferred over there to spend before my next direct deposit. I’m supposed to start buying xmas gifts, set money aside for my gifts to myself which is $349 for The HTC Touch Pro 2 & a $600 HP Entertainment Laptop or whatever is on sale the day after Thanksgiving & I was gonna buy more shoes & clothes of course…Im like PAUSE, somebody’s messing with my money & Im not trying to overdraft anything ever. I have to be responsible & monitor these things because it’s important. Anyway…I should get my money back by the end of this week or beginning of the following week & I will always be careful where I use my checking card. Bottom line. Online banking is the easiest way to monitor your accounts. You can detect & solve problems faster.
